Gott celebrated a birthday! On June 27, 2007, Karel Gott celebrated the first birthday of the Gottland museum in Jevany! He also picked his substitute since the birthday program included the announcement of the winner of a contest entitled ‘Three Minutes in the Shoes of Karel Gott’. The prize was awarded by the Master himself. The holder of thirty-three Golden Nightingales kept everybody in suspense as he was late for the birthday party of his own Gottland museum! The crowd of his fans that had gathered in front of Gottland had to wait for Karel Gott longer than they expected. Right after his arrival, the Master, accompanied with the Gottland owner Mr. Jan Moťovský, planted a symbolic tree on the occasion of the first birthday of the museum. Afterwards, everybody moved towards a make-do stage where the ‘Three Minutes in the Shoes of Karel Gott’ contest was taking place. "Everybody has a model and it is definitely interesting to listen to him. If a person can inspire his/her performance with something that is typical of him or her, with something that makes him or her different, such a performance holds people’s interest," the singer commented on the efforts of his fans. He listened to them from amongst the other guests and his face did not wear the happiest expressions all the time. The final winner of the contents was Mr. Jaromír Adamec whose voice enchanted Karel Gott himself. Of the celebrities who came to congratulate Gott on the first museum birthday there was František Janeček with his partner Tereza Mátlova, or Lucie Barková with her daughter and an unknown partner, to name at least some. In the end the Master made up for his late arrival. How? He personally showed his fans around Gottland!
